Luke Akinsola has spent nearly a decade working in every sector of sports media. Most recently, Akinsola worked as a Content Lead at the National Basketball Association (NBA), developing publishing strategy across the NBA App and NBA.com. He also played a key role in the promotion coverage of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) and grassroots initiative Future Starts Now across social and digital platforms.
Akinsola's time at the NBA gave him exposure across editorial as a feature writer, global partnerships, analytics, and marketing. Previously, he worked in sports public relations at FleishmanHillard and FOX Sports as a producer for NASCAR programming. He's incredibly passionate about the game of basketball and connecting young people, especially from disadvantaged communities, to opportunities around the game and beyond.
A native of Cary, NC, Akinsola now resides in New York City. He enjoys staying active, traveling, spending time with family/friends, and serving his church in his free time.
Akinsola graduated from UNC in 2017 with a Bachelors of Arts in Media and Journalism with a broadcast specialization.
